Terms of Service
Last updated: September 27, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
Talk to Data is a product of LogicGridz LLC ("Talk to Data," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using Talk to Data ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you're using the Service on behalf of an organization, you're agreeing on behalf of that organization, and "you" refers to that organization and its authorized users.
2. Description of Service
Talk to Data is an AI-powered data analysis platform that connects to your databases and allows natural language querying. The Service includes chat-based analysis, autonomous/scheduled analysis, data quality scanning, alerting, data lineage, a context library, and related features. The Service is multi-tenant: each customer organization's data and users are logically isolated from other organizations on the same deployment.
3. Account, Organization & Access
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Optional two-factor authentication is available from Settings — see our Privacy Policy for details.
- An account belongs to one organization (tenant). Depending on your plan, an organization's administrator may invite multiple named users under that organization — this is a supported feature, not account-sharing. Sharing a single named user's login credentials among multiple individuals is not permitted.
- Organization administrators are responsible for the users they invite, including the accuracy of role assignments and removing access when a user leaves.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
4. Subscription & Billing
- Free tier: No charge. Limited features as described on the pricing page.
- Paid plans (Team, Business, Enterprise): Billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
- Prices may change with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.
- Annual plans are billed upfront for the full year.
5. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Full details are in our Refund Policy. In summary: cancel anytime and keep access through the end of your current billing period; annual plans can be refunded in full within the first 30 days; all new subscriptions carry a 7-day satisfaction guarantee; refunds are limited to one per customer.
6. AI & Third-Party Services (BYOAK)
- The Service uses AI models from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT-5), Google (Gemini), and DeepSeek via API. You provide your own API keys for these providers ("Bring Your Own API Key" — BYOAK), and your usage is governed directly by that provider's own terms and privacy policy.
- To generate SQL and insights, the Service sends the relevant dataset's schema (column names, data types) to the AI provider along with representative column values (e.g., distinct values for categorical columns, min/max ranges for numeric columns) and your question. This is more than a bare schema — see our Privacy Policy for the specifics of what is sent.
- AI-generated responses may contain errors. You are responsible for verifying accuracy before making business decisions based on AI output.
- We do not control or guarantee the availability, accuracy, or security practices of third-party AI providers.
- Your API key usage and costs with AI providers are your responsibility.
7. Your Data
- Ownership: You retain full ownership of your data. We do not claim rights to your data.
- Database connections: When you connect an external database, queries run directly against your database at query time. Query results are held briefly in server memory (a short-lived cache, minutes not days) to speed up repeat requests, and are not written to disk or our long-term database.
- Uploaded data (CSV/Excel): Stored in our managed database for querying. Deleting a dataset removes its stored data and metadata immediately.
- Chat history & analytics: Stored to provide the Service (conversation context, agent learnings).
- Account/organization closure: Closing your account is currently a manual process — email [email protected] and we will delete your organization's data (datasets, chat history, uploaded files, agent configurations) within 30 days of a verified request. We do not yet offer a fully self-service "delete my account" button; see our Privacy Policy for details on exercising this right.
- We do not sell, share, or use your data for training AI models.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for illegal activities
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the Service
- Overload the system intentionally (DDoS, bulk scraping, automated abuse)
- Share access credentials with unauthorized users
- Use the Service to process data you don't have rights to access
9. Service Availability
- We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and the Service is currently provided without a contractual uptime SLA unless one is separately agreed in writing (e.g., an Enterprise order form).
- Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance when possible.
- We are not liable for downtime caused by third-party providers (AI APIs, cloud hosting, database providers).
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Talk to Data shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Intellectual Property
- The Service, including its code, design, and documentation, is owned by LogicGridz LLC.
- AI-generated insights and reports based on your data are yours to use freely.
- Agent learnings and context you create belong to you but are stored in our system.
12. Account Termination
- You may close your account at any time by emailing [email protected].
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
- Upon a verified termination request, your organization's data will be deleted within 30 days.
13. Data Processing Agreement (Business & Enterprise)
If your organization requires a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) to comply with your own regulatory obligations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), contact [email protected] to request one. See our Data Processing Agreement for the standard terms governing how we process data on your behalf.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which LogicGridz LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
16. Contact
